Through the blog, we have met with other couples who are adopting and they have asked me how we are dealing with the wait as well and really the only answer we have for them is to keep busy. It seems to be the only thing we are in control of at the moment and with that - we try and focus on preparing as much as we could and praying, of course!
So as of right now, the crib and changing table are up - we have decided on the theme of light gray chevron and two by two animals! We are so in love with how it has evolved over the past few months into an actual theme and our room is full of blankets, sheets, stuffed animals and a pile of baby items to assemble!
Below is a photo of Phil assembling the crib - next time, I will grab my better camera and take some quality photos for the blog, but for now - you get a fuzzy, bad quality photo (sorry!) We uploaded the photo onto facebook and had many people asking if they missed the birth of our child...the answer is no ;) We will be sure to shout it from the highest mountain when we get the official call and no one will even have to ask the question! Phil and I also agreed we will share this blog with some of our close friends and family now that we have started to make it public - that way they too can keep up with the progress if they would like!
Another worthy to note moment, we let the baby's Godparents know that we chose them and spoke with our parish about the baptism! All the planning, all of the details and all of the unknowns - it can be scary but as we pass 6 months since being in the books, we hope the baby will arrive soon!
after the baby has arrived!)
