[Photo of our profile cover below] I had a few people ask how hard it was to choose one photo. The truth is, we loved this one not because we looked the greatest, in fact we have both lost weight since then but because that day was so special for us. We were in Central Park at the Strawberry Fields!
There it is...the words we have been waiting for (well the first ones of many)! So now that our home study is completed, we started to work and finally completed our adoption profile! We had to wait about a week until the books (10 pages each) were delivered then had to have them cut and shipped off to our agency! *falls over* What a task that was! If you would like to see our profile, please contact me personally, we do not mind helping or sharing some tips and tricks we found along the way!

We had an opportunity to do a photo session with a friend of ours today, the photos will be going into our profile! We are really getting so excited! Here is just a couple of them:
Today was a great day for us, we had a meeting with our pediatrician and we were able to discuss our adoption keys (basically, what situations we are 'open' to). The doctor said she has plenty of babies she treats of whom were adopted so of course that was really helpful and they even told us we can call them when we receive our child and they will give us advice and suggest a good doctor in the area that the baby is born in. For those of you who do not know about ICPC (The Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children), this process will mean we will stay in the state the baby is born in for up to 2 weeks. So to know our doctor will be only a phone call away to help us, really reassured us! Immediately after the meeting, I headed to the school where I teach 3rd graders for a meeting. I took this photo of Phil playing with the legos! He is such a child at heart! Also if you notice the red bracelet he is wearing, it is the one he was given at the adoption agency which he has sworn he will wear until we are matched and then it will go into his/her baby memory box! The bracelet has the words "Adoption: Love born from the heart"! *melts* For now, we will just wait until that day as we are almost ready to be in the books! |
